Artist Statement

In a world that scatters our attention, it is my hope that my artwork can draw you into the enduring beauty of nature.

Through my paintings, I seek to create a visual space for deliberate attention - not as an escape from reality, but on what is already present: stillness, goodness, grace and beauty.

Inspired by my love of nature, the changing seasons and the weather, my paintings capture those intangible and fleeting feelings we all can have when out in nature - experiences that draw you out of yourself into something much greater and beyond sight; something transcendent.

Exploring themes such as memory, the elements, light and horizon lines, my work has been described as wistful, sensitive, "full of possibility" and deeply evocative.

As well as the nature world, I am inspired by poetry and literature including works by William Wordsworth, Elizabeth Goodge, Mary Oliver, and the Psalms.
