Ian Hull

Ian Hull is a fine art photographer based at Horningsea, near Cambridge, who works in black and white and prints his own limited editions by the Piezography process. He is a Hahnemühle registered artist.

His photographic path began in the school darkroom, and that is where his love of black and white photography came from. Several years later he brought his love of nature and of photography together, to record what he had seen while out in the countryside. His aim now is not only to record what he sees but to present it in a way that is easy on the eye and made to be hung and lived with.

His subjects are the animals and the landscapes of the wild: highland cattle, red deer stags, horses, seals and swans, and the mountains and lochs of the Scottish Highlands, among them the Buachaille and Loch Awe. He has been published in Bird Photographer of the Year, and honoured in the Mono Awards and the Minimalist Photography Awards.
