Alice Baker

Alice Baker is a Suffolk-based tattoo artist and self-taught illustrator working across traditional and digital media. She has been tattooing professionally since 2019, specialising in black and grey illustrative and fine line work, with an emphasis on creating individual designs.

Alongside tattooing, Alice creates original illustrations, paintings and commissioned artwork, often working traditionally with pencil and pen, as well as digital art and watercolour painting.

In 2026, she founded the Wildlore Art Club, a monthly art subscription built around original artwork inspired by myth, flora, fauna. Through Wildlore, Alice encourages people working in any creative medium to interpret a shared theme in their own way.

Artist Statement

My work is rooted in a fascination with the natural world and the stories we have created around it. Wildlife, plants and changing landscapes often form the starting point, intertwined with influences from mythology, folklore, fantasy and darker storytelling.

I’m particularly drawn to the space between the familiar and the imagined — taking recognisable forms from nature and allowing them to become strange, atmospheric or otherworldly. Rather than simply depicting a subject, I want to create a sense of curiosity and wonder: the feeling that there is a story beyond the image.

Ultimately, I create because I enjoy exploring ideas and building worlds. I hope my work encourages people to look a little closer at the natural world, indulge their imagination and find beauty in things that are wild, unusual or sometimes overlooked.
